Magnezit Group received a grant from the Industrial Development Fund of the Chelyabinsk Region for research activities
The Supervisory Board of the Industrial Development Fund of the Chelyabinsk region, chaired by the Deputy Governor Yegor Kovalchuk, summarized the results of the second competition for the provision of financial support to the regional industry. Applications of nine enterprises of the region, including Magnezit Group, were approved. The total sum of the grants amounted to more than 58 million rubles, which will be used for research and development work aimed at creating higher-quality and more competitive import-substituting industrial products.
Magnezit Group will be compensated more than 2,5 million rubles for scientific and technological works connected with improvement of compositions and technologies of production of unformed refractories. As a result of these researches we managed to develop and start mass production of new grades of refractory filling mass Magram P88 — dry products of periclase and periclase composition with increased content of iron oxide for application in lining of arc steelmaking furnaces. Its advantages are quick sintering, increase of lining resistance, uniform distribution and formation of denser refractory layer on the surface of metallurgical unit, and reduction of dust formation during application. The grant funds will be used to purchase new laboratory equipment and further develop the Group’s R&D activities within the framework of the existing Sustainable Development Policy.
